Gauteng liquor licensing office calls for licence
renewals

The Gauteng Department of Economic Development, through its Liquor Licensing
Office, urges all liquor licence holders to renew their licences for 2007,
issued under the National Liquor Act, 1989.

In terms of the National Liquor Act, 1989 liquor licences have to be renewed
annually on or before 31 December each year. Should a licence holder not be
able to renew his/ her licence on or before 31 December, the South African
Receiver of Revenue (SARS) will still accept payment during January (with a 50%
extra surcharge) and February (with a 100% extra surcharge).

The liquor licensing office will be sending renewals with effect from 16
October 2006. Should a licence holder not receive his/her renewal advice by 20
November 2006, the following numbers can be called in order to obtain renewal
advices:
