Cup

24 May 2007

A local delegation of young entrepreneurs from the hospitality industry will
on Friday, 25 May 2007 attend a FIFA congress in Zurich, Switzerland in
preparation for hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup locally.

The delegation, comprising eight entrepreneurs from the hospitality industry
and five officials from the Gauteng Provincial Government and local government,
will gain knowledge on how to host high profile international guests.

The group will work alongside officials from Match, the international
company that handles all FIFA's international travel, accommodation, ticketing
and IT needs.

"The Gauteng Provincial Government has committed itself to growing our
domestic competitive football industry as part of our overall economic growth
strategy," said Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Barbara
Creecy.

"The FIFA Match skills transfer mission will help us by giving young
entrepreneurs the relevant experience in the hospitality industry to allow us
to better take advantage of the opportunities offered by hosting the 2010 FIFA
World Cup," said Creecy.

"Government officials accompanying the group will ensure skills transfer to
others when the group returns," she added.

The FIFA Match skills transfer partnership will continue for three years and
will offer young people from Gauteng the following opportunities:

* gain event management experience in preparation for 2010 at a working
level
* involve Gauteng people in an international FIFA event in a foreign
environment
* demonstrate that hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup will provide meaningful
empowerment and skills transfer.
