programme and hand over of tractors to Kings and Tribal Authorities

The Department of Agriculture will be launching a mechanisation programme
and hand over of 31 tractors at a cost of R4,7 million to the six kings, four
regional tribal authorities, and specific projects & cooperatives on
Friday, 24 February 2006, at the Bhisho Stadium at 10h00.
Twenty-one tractors will be handed over to specific projects and
co-operatives, 10 out of them will be allocated to kings and tribal authorities
as part and parcel of the governmentâs contribution in the fight against
poverty and unemployment especially in rural areas.
The Department has extended an invitation to the kings, farmers,
municipalities and other stakeholders to grace the occasion. The Premier and
the MEC for the Department Gugile Nkwinti will be handing over these tractors
and implements to the intended recipients.
