Minister to launch public sector innovation awards

Public Service and Administration Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi will
officially launch this year's Annual Public Sector Innovation Awards, organised
by the Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI), at a ceremony on Monday, 31
July 2006

The CPSI was established in 2002 to focus on improving government service
delivery through the use of innovative tools, technologies, methodologies and
projects. Through the annual CPSI awards, government seeks to recognise
innovative thinking and reward projects and programmes that lead to better
public service delivery. Among the previous winners are the South African
Police Service (SAPS) Domestic Violence Response Unit in Sunnyside, Tshwane;
the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and the South African Post
Office.
