Public Service and Administration Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, in her
capacity as the Chairperson of the fifth Pan African Ministers of Public and
Civil Service, invites all media to the First Biennial Conference of the
African Management Development Institute Network (AMDIN).
The theme of the conference is "Developing Public Sector Capacity Needs for
Africa's 21st Century Needs."
As part of our initiatives to improve the capacity of the state to deliver
services on our continent as well as within our borders, the AMDIN was
conceived arising out of the recommendations of the third Pan African Ministers
of Public Service and Administration conference and was subsequently launched
on 24 and 25 August 2005 by Management Development Institutes (MDIs) from
across the continent in Johannesburg, South Africa.
AMDIN aims to provide a credible platform for Management Development
Institutes on the continent to share experiences and collaborate on governance
and administration matters pertinent to the development of the African
continent and its public sector institutions. As such this initiative is
inextricably linked to the New Partnership for Africa's Development (Nepad)
programme on Governance and Public Administration.
The launch will take place as indicated in the programme below.
