During April 2006, Free State Public Libraries will be a beehive of
activities when World Book Day is celebrated.
The main event will be in Bloemfontein on Friday, 21 April 2006 at 09h00 at
the B P Leinaeng Public Library, where three partners will join forces to make
this a memorable event. The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture,
Science and Technology in co-operation with the Mangaung Municipality and the
Public and Community Libraries Interest Group of LIASA will incorporate the
theme of World Book Day â Books talk: are you listening? in an exciting
programme packed with activity.
The B P Leinaeng Public Library is also celebrating its 30th anniversary and
the widow of Benjamin Pule Leinaeng (one of the twelve disciples of Nelson
Mandela) will be there to tell the story.
Well-known childrenâs author, Chris van Wyk is also included in the
programme and should not be missed. Mr van Wyk is amongst others, the author of
an exciting childrenâs biography series, the Freedom Fighters.
