The Department of Foreign Affairs invites the media to attend the
Department's "Take A Girl Child to Work Event."
Media are invited as follows:

Time: 09h00 - 14h00
Venue: East Lawns, Union Buildings (Please present press cards, Parking will be
at Government Avenue)
The aim of the initiative will be to provide the girls with real-life
platforms to deepen their thinking about the role in society and the future of
the African continent.
Other events lined up will include a Creative Arts Workshop whose artworks
will be displayed at the DFA/Africa Day Seminar on Friday, 25 May 2007 at the
University of Johannesburg Arts Theatre. A written word essay competition
depicting the experiences of the girl-children will also be the highlight of
the event. Senior members of the Department will be in charge of the
girl-children for the duration of the programme.
