Campaign at the University of KwaZulu-Natal

The Department of Education will on Friday, 14 September 2007, host the
Teacher Recruitment Campaign at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Edgeood Campus
in PineTown, at 10h00. MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal, Ms Catherine Ina
Cronje, will talk to students about the Fundza Lushaka "Teach the Nation"
Bursary Scheme designated to promote teaching as a preferred choice for able
and committed South Africans.
Themed "Teach for personal and professional satisfaction" the campaign aims
to:
* increase the pool of highly qualified teachers in priority area
* encourage matriculants to choose teaching as a profession of first
choice
* encourage mature citizen wanting to switch to a more fulfilling career
* target former teachers who what to return to the profession.
The campaign will run at all South African universities.
