Co-operatives Day

Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Elizabeth Thabethe, kindly invites
you to the International Co-operatives Day celebration.
Details of the event are as follows:
Date: Saturday, 7 July 2007
Time: 10h00 to 13h30
Venue: Internal Street, Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) Campus,
Sunnyside, Pretoria
This annual event is hosted in conjunction with the International
Co-operatives Alliance and the International Labour Organisation. The main
objectives of the celebration are:
* to highlight the success and progress that government, in all spheres,
have registered since the passing of the co-operatives legislation
* to inform the general public about the new co-operatives legislation and
support measures available to them
* to exhibit successful co-operatives and special projects funded by the dti's
Co-operatives Development Unit
* to highlight and promote mutual working relations between local and
international co-operatives development organisations.
