The Deputy Minister of Education, Mr Enver Surty, (MP) will, on Monday, 7
August 2006, at approximately 13h00 brief the media on the outcomes of the
Council of Education Ministers (CEM) meeting at Burgers Park Hotel in
Pretoria.
The CEM meeting will among many issues discuss:
* the State of Readiness for the 2006 Senior Certificate Examination
* declaring âno fee schoolsâ in 2007
* Ministerial Committee on literacy report
* teachers leaving profession: crisis looming
* infrastructure matters
* implementation of the National Curriculum Statement (NCS) Grades 10 â 12.
The media briefing is scheduled as follows:
