South African Women in Dialogue Western Cape (Sawid) chapter, in partnership
with the Department of the Premier's Human Rights and Social Dialogue
Directorate will hold a workshop with various religious institutions to seek
solutions in ending violence against women.
The discussion will be held as follows:
Date: 5 December 2007
Time: 09h00 to 16h00
Venue: Kramer LT1, Middle Campus, Law Building, University of Cape Town.
Ms Rosieda Shabodien, patron of Sawid Western Cape and Commissioner for the
Gender Commission, will lead this discussion informed by Sawid's vision and
mission statements. This effort, located within the "16 Days of Activism"
national campaign, will have contributions by Reverend Ursula Higgins, Ms
Firdouza Waggie, Ms Danielle Kowen, Nowelefe Tofu and Ms Pramilla Vassen.
Participating women from all denominations, rural and urban, have also been
invited.
