E Molewa to lead Imbizo Focus Week programme, 19 to 28 Oct

North West Provincial Government to embark on Imbizo

Premier Edna Molewa will be leading the Imbizo Focus Week programme in four
district municipalities in the North West province from 19 to 28 October
2007.

Molewa will be joined by government leaders from all three spheres in a
week's programme of heightened direct interaction between the elected
leadership and communities across the country.

The week will focus on strengthening partnerships and extending platforms
for communities to access programmes of government aimed at reducing poverty
and building partnerships with critical stakeholder for a better life for
all.

Government believes that the Imbizo Week is an important platform for
mobilising communities to partner with government to accelerate service
delivery and combat crime.

Informed by the sub-theme 'Social Mobilisation for development and safer
communities,' the izimbizo will be held at the following venues and dates:

* 19 October 2007: Madibogopan (Ratlou Local Municipality, Ngaka Modiri
Molema District Municipality)

* 22 October 2007: Bloemhof (Lekwa-Teemane Local Municipality, Bophirima
District Municipality)

* 25 October 2007: Makwassi (Maquassie Local Municipality, Kenneth Kaunda
District Municipality)

* 28 October 2007: Modderspruit (Modderspruit Local Municipality, Bojanala
District Municipality)

The izimbizo will profile the government programme of action including among
others, local economic development, the integrated development plans and the
local government development strategies outlining plans to fight against
poverty and creating a better life for all.
