âService Excellence for a Better Lifeâ is the Office of the Premierâs
promise to the people of the North West Province and the country, to strive to
improve peopleâs quality of life.
On Friday at the Mmabatho Convention Centre the Premier will reward and
recognise teams that have excelled in their field of work, carrying out
governmentâs mandate to render services to the people.
The Premierâs Public Service Excellence Awards is an annual event designed
to recognise project teams as well as business units or institutions that
highlight the Provincial Governmentâs commitment to the philosophy of
Batho-Pele and transformation of service delivery for a better life for
all.
Since the introduction of this annual event, the year 2005 has drawn the
most entries from various government departments. In the five categories
identified, 31 entries have been received.
During the last awards the Department of Agriculture, Conservation,
Environment and Tourism won the Premierâs Best Department of the Year and the
Premierâs Batho-Pele Civil Service Achiever of the Year.
âWe are pleased that 2005 has drawn so many entries. This is indicative of
the confidence our government departments have in the quality of the service
they are rendering. We wish all those deserving winners the best in this noble
race, which is service excellence for a better lifeâ said the Director-General
Dr Manana Bakane Tuoane.
