Freedom of the City of Johannesburg Parade

The SANDF will once again participate in the annual Freedom of the City of
Johannesburg Parade on Saturday, 10 November 2007. The parade will depart from
Commissioner Street at 10h15, down Simmonds Street and halt at the Cenotaph for
the main ceremony.
The Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, the honourable Amos Masondo will
acknowledge the general salute, inspect and address the parade. The highlight
of this ceremony will be observed when Regiment President Kruger, (An Army
Reserve Force Unit) receives the Freedom of Entry of the City of Johannesburg
Scroll from the Executive Mayor, the honourable Amos Masondo for the firsts
time.
This colourful military ceremony will include a march past by columns of
march led by Regiment President Kruger's Colour Party, accompanied by 11 colour
parties. These accompanying colour parties comprises of regiments which have
already been accorded the status of the freedom of entry into the City of
Johannesburg before, including 21 South African Infantry Battalion.
Approximately 300 SANDF members will participate in this event.
