meeting between Big Business, the Ministers and Directors-General of the
Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster (JCPS)

President Thabo Mbeki, Cabinet Ministers and senior government officials met
the Big Business Working Group on 25 August, where a decision was taken that
the Minister of Safety and Security, will convene a high-level meeting between
Big Business, the Ministers and Directors-General of the JCPS cluster.
It was recognised that there is a need for a steep change in the fight
against crime, with a heightened sense of urgency and commitment. This
follow-up meeting will be chaired by the Minister for Safety and Security, Mr
Charles Nqakula.
A media briefing will be held following the meeting. Details are as
