The Department of Local Government and Housing in Mpumalanga will be meeting
with all contractors who have done work, are currently doing work or would like
to do work for the department. This meeting forms part of the activities of the
Imbizo focus week, and follows the meeting the department had with
consultants.
During this meeting MEC Candith Mashego-Dlamini is expected to interface
with the contractors on a number of issues that affect the department. MEC
Mashego-Dlamini is expected to hear the different views from them about the
challenges they encounter when doing their work and on how they would like the
department to improve its operations and their frustrations. She will also
outline her expectations.
The meetings will seek to find a common approach between the department and
contractors on how best the two can work together to accelerate the delivery of
houses and other infrastructure projects. MEC Mashego-Dlamini will be
accompanied by the senior management of the department.
