Housing Policy and Budget Speech and launch Local Government Anti Corruption

The MEC for the Department of Local Government and Housing Candith
Mashego-Dlamini will present her Policy and Budget Speech on the 31 May 2007.
Critical to the presentation will be the achievements and challenges that the
department faced during the past year in regard to service delivery. The Policy
and Budget Speech will also give an overview of some of the objectives and
targets on how the Department has committed itself for the current financial
year and towards Vision 2014.
After the budget speech MEC Mashego-Dlamini will launch the Local Government
Anti Corruption Strategy. This strategy is targeted at the municipalities, with
a clear intention of ensuring that public monies are spent correctly for the
delivery of services. The strategy will focus on prevention by helping
municipalities develop policies and structures to deal with corruption before
it happens. The budget speech will take place as follows:
