Following the successful national launch of the Tourism Charter Council, the
Secretariat will now embark on introducing the council at a provincial
level.
First in line is the Limpopo launch where MEC for Environment and Tourism,
Colins Chabane, is expected to address key tourism stakeholders on Wednesday,
28 June 2006, at Meropa Casino, Polokwane from 12h00.
The launch includes the unveiling of the new Charter brand, an audio visual
presentation, question and answer and networking session.
A Public Sector Workshop on the Tourism Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)
Charter precedes the launch ceremony at Meropa Casino from 09h00 until 11h10.
The core objectives of this workshop is to familiarise public sector
representatives from Limpopo with the Charter, while promoting use of the
Charter as a base for procuring tourism and hospitality products and
services.
A highlight of the workshop will be the introduction of a public sector
tourism and hospitality procurement tool with a demonstration on how it can be
used to ensure reporting on progress.
