the African Mining Partnership

The Minister of Minerals and Energy, Ms Buyelwa Sonjica, will attend the
African Mining Partnership's (AMP's) mid-term review meeting in Abuja, Nigeria
on 25 August. The meeting is to review progress on projects flowing from the
fourth AMP meeting that was held in Pretoria on 3 February this year. The AMP
is a New Partnership for Africa's Development (Nepad) programme that is
directed at ensuring common approaches to matters of mining.
Details of the mid-term project progress review meeting are as
follows:
