Premier Beatrice Marshoff is leading a government delegation to the State
Territory of New Delhi in India, the States of Saxony and Saxony Anhult in
Germany and Belgium from 7 to 20 September 2007. These visits will ensure the
signing of partnerships and memoranda of understanding with business chambers,
training institutions and states of New Delhi and Saxony on the areas of
engineering, information technology, agro-processing and manufacturing.
The Free State province will participate as a guest of honour at the Accenta
trade fair in the City of Ghent in Belgium. This exhibition will feature
leading Free State companies, artists, cultural enterprises as well as state
agencies such as the Free State Investment Promotion Agency and Free State
Tourism.
Throughout all these visits, the Premier will have an opportunity to speak
to top business organisations on trade to further maximise partnerships for
business and investment opportunities in the province. It is also exciting to
note that our Premier is expected to be a guest speaker at the heritage
celebration which will be hosted by the South African Embassy in Belgium.
MEC Mafereka from the Department of Local Government and Housing has been
appointed as Acting Premier until Premier Marshoff comes back from her official
trip.
