Gauteng Health MEC Brian Hlongwa will open a new world-class pharmacy, a
Kangaroo Mother Care Unit as well as participate in the five kilometres walk as
part of the department's healthy lifestyle campaign at Leratong Hospital on
Thursday, 25 October.
The construction of the pharmacy has cost R17 million. It has 10
state-of-the-art service points which will accommodate 200 patients. The
pharmacy promises to improve service delivery and reduce waiting times. The
Kangaroo Mother Care Unit which will cater for premature born babies and their
mothers will go a long way in ensuring that low birth weight babies are given a
better chance of survival.
