Gauteng Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation MEC, Barbara Creecy, will
officially launch the 2006 Vaal Canoe Challenge on Friday, 6 October 2006.
The 2006 Vaal Challenge is set to be one of the most exciting races on this
year's sport calendar. The 2006 challenge, which also coincides with the 50th
anniversary of the anti-pass women's march, has a special surprise planned for
participating women paddlers.
This annual event, which is in line with positioning Gauteng as the home of
champions and competitive sport, is expected to draw about 800 local and
international paddlers.
