Gauteng MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Barbara Creecy,
learned with great shock and sadness of the sudden death of the Mamelodi
Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder and striker genius Gift Leremi, in a car
accident last night.
"On behalf of the Gauteng Provincial Government, we extend our heartfelt
condolences to the Leremi family, Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club management,
friends and supporters of the team. We join them in mourning the loss of this
young sportsman who played tirelessly for the good of the game. As we mourn his
death, let us also pay tribute to his excellent football skills which he used
so effectively to entertain the people. His presence on the field will be sadly
missed," said Creecy.
