KwaZulu-Natal Transport MEC commends law enforcers for
visibility

22 December 2006

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport and Community Safety Bheki Cele has
commended traffic and law enforcement agencies in the province for their
visibility, dedication and commitment to reducing death on the province's
roads.

National Minister of Transport Jeff Radebe, together with Cele, visited
roadblocks in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday.

Hundreds of motorists were charged for various traffic offences but the MEC
commended those who contributed to reducing road deaths by obeying all road
rules.

He also issued a strict warning that these roadblocks will continue, and no
mercy will be shown to any road offender.

"We will implement 100 percent compliance policy and those caught breaking
the law will face the consequences," the MEC said.
