Passing out parade of 49 traffic officers

Road safety will receive a major boost when MEC for Transport, Community
Safety and Liaison Mr Bheki Cele attends a passing out parade tomorrow, 15
December at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Pietermarizburg at
10h00, where 49 traffic officers will be graduating.

This comes after they have completed their six months training course with
the Department of Transport Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) Training College.
Among these 49 Traffic officers 33 are females 16 males. In total 26 are RTI
officers and 23 are from local municipalities. The pass rate for this year is
80% with nine distinctions.

MEC Cele said that they planned on deploying these graduate throughout the
province of KwaZulu-Natal, starting from tomorrow.
