The Department of Agriculture will host a consultative workshop on the draft
pesticides management policy on 26 September 2006.
The workshop will look at the contents of the draft policy and comments
received from various stakeholders.
The policy was published by the Minister of Agriculture on 13 April 2006
(Gazette No. 28711). It aims to review the regulatory framework of pesticides
in South Africa currently regulated under the Fertilizers, Farm Feeds,
Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act, 1947 (Act No. 36 of 1947).
The workshop will be attended by invited stakeholders and is also open to
interested parties and the public.
The workshop will be held on 26 September 2006 from 08h30 to 16h30 at the
South Africa Reserve Bank Auditorium, 370 Church Street, Pretoria.
