(SADC) Media Awards calls for entries from journalists and media practitioners
to the 2006 SADC Media Awards Competition. It is open to journalists and media
practitioners who are South African Nationals and can submit as many entries as
possible.
The purpose of the SADC Media Awards is to honour excellence in journalism
in the region. The awards are in the fields of Print, Radio, Television and
Photojournalism. South Africa is participating for the third time in the
awards. On the past two occasions South African journalists have won the radio
category.
This yearâs competition will focus on HIV and AIDS only, it recognises the
role media can play in promoting understanding and behavioural change through
stories that influence positive attitudes and destigmatise HIV and AIDS.
