In what will clearly be the day of skills celebrations in the Western Cape,
Labour Minister, Membathisi Mdladlana, will on Friday, 27 October, officiate in
two separate events celebrating achievements in the field of skills
empowerment.
In the first event, Minister Mdladlana will confer certificates to 24 women
who have successfully undergone agricultural training at Lamberts Bay, about
300 kilometres north-west of Cape Town.
A few hours later the Minister will attend the annual Western Cape Further
Education and Training (FET) Colleges achiever awards where he will hand out
awards to recipients in several categories, including the Lecturer of the
Year.
Introduced in 2004, the awards recognise excellence in the FET College
sector among public service and educator staff.
