Labour inspectors in the Eastern Cape have today started a five-day blitz
campaign to enforce labour laws in the eastern parts of the province.
The inspections will concentrate on occupational health and safety and
working conditions in the domestic, forestry and wholesale and retail sectors
around Mthatha, Mount Ayliff and Lusikisiki areas until Friday.
Labour and Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)
officials will also conduct information sessions to educate and inform
employers about labour laws. The media is invited. Details of advocacy sessions
are as follows:
