(AgriBEE) Steering Committee for the first time

Cape Town: Minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs, Ms Lulu Xingwana, has
met the Steering Committee today, where she has in principle, accepted the
AgriBEE Charter. On conclusion of the meeting, she stated that the Charter will
be discussed by the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture and Land Affairs before
the end of this month. Subsequent to that, it will be handed over to the
Minister of Trade and Industry (the dti) for gazetting.
The minister has also extended the mandate of the Steering Committee until
the finalisation of the Charter.
