L Xingwana to host Master Mentor Certification event, 28 Sept

Master Mentor Certification ceremony gala event

26 September 2006

The Minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs Ms Lulu Xingwana would like to
invite members of the media to the master mentor certification gala event.

The Master Mentor Programme was initiated in January 2006 during which
hundred and sixty-three Master Mentors were trained. The mentoring programme
centres on the strategic objectives of equitable access and participation to
agricultural opportunities.

The Master Mentorship Programme is designed to achieve a vision of a united
and prosperous agricultural sector and the elimination of skewed participation
by means of a formalised, outcomes and output driven programme. The main focus
areas would be to ensure that the youth and women are encouraged to participate
in the programme.

The strategy encourages the continued participation of those that are
already part of the sector and promotes the development of inclusive and
diverse agriculture that will cover the entire spectrum of enterprises and farm
sizes. Mentorship therefore will be the cornerstone to realising this vision
and strategy by means of solid partnerships between existing commercial farmers
and new entrants.

To recognise their achievements and efforts the Minister would like to
invite you to celebrate with us:
