Western Cape Premier, Ebrahim Rasool, will host the launch of the Islamic
Civilisation Symposium as a pre-curser to the National Symposium to be held in
Johannesburg on 1 - 3 September 2006. The symposium seeks to address topics
such as the spread of Islam in Southern Africa; the relationship between trade
and Islam, language and Islamic literature; Islamic education and intellectual
development; history, contribution and challenges, coexistence of cultures and
Muslim media, etc.
Date: Wednesday, 28 June 2006
Venue: Leeuwenhof, Hof Street, Cape Town
Time: 18h00 â 20h00
This event will be attended by key Muslim leaders, ambassadors, government
Ministers and business representatives.
