            The Post Office Amendment Act 85 of 1991 intends:
- to amend the Post Office Act, 1958, so as
 - to delete, define or further define certain expressions;
 - to provide for the incorporation of a postal company and a telecommunications company and for the powers of such companies;
 - to provide for the transfer of the postal enterprise to the postal company and of the telecommunications enterprise to the telecommunications company;
 - to provide for the conditions of service and pensicms of persons transferred to or employed by the postal company or the telecommunications company;
 - to provide for the control of the Post Office Savings Bank by the postal company;
 - to further regulate matters in connection with the Post Office Savings Bank; and
 - to increase the fines which may be imposed under the Act; and
 - to provide for matters connected therewith.
