The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) together with the Department of
Agriculture invites you to a press conference on Southern African Development
Communityâs (SADC) preparedness for Avian Influenza outbreaks.
The press conference will be held at the backdrop of a workshop held on the
issue. The workshop is a response to the almost global outbreak of the
Notifiable Avian Influenza (H5N1), especially coupled with the recent outbreaks
in some parts of Africa.
Amongst the delegates to the workshop, will be officials from the FAO, SADC,
World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the World Health Organisation
(WHO).
