Premier Supra Mahumapelo leads provincial Youth Month event, 2 Jul

Young people from across the North West Province will on Saturday, 2 July commemorate the 40th anniversary of June 16 at a Provincial Youth Month close-out event to be held at Ikageleng stadium in Zeerust, Ramotshere-Moiloa Local Municipality.

Aimed at paying tribute to the bravery of the youth of 1976 by acknowledging and showcasing the contribution young people are continuing to play towards realisation of the provincial development plan goals, this event will be used as a platform for Premier Supra Mahumapelo to amongst others, launch the first of its kind Youth Magazine and DVD, sign a Provincial Youth Entrepreneurship Service Accord with the youth pledging to address development challenges affecting the youth, highlight provincial programmes for youth empowerment and encourage youth to be physically active and lead a healthy lifestyle.

“The Provincial Government views this event as an educational occasion which will enable young people to connect with public and private institutions, and be exposed to the existing empowerment opportunities and entrepreneurship programmes”, explains Mr Brian Setswambung, the Acting Provincial spokesperson, who adds that this approach will help in the overall attempt to bridge the gap that impedes access to information and unleash future entrepreneurs.

Premier Mahumapelo will be accompanied by Members of Executive Council and the Traditional Leadership.

Members of the media are invited to cover the provincial Youth Month celebration that will be held as follows:

Date: Saturday, 2 July 2016
Time: 9h00
Venue: Ikageleng Stadium, Zeerust
