The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Dan Metlana Mashitisho, a seasoned administrator, as the new Director-General. The appointment is effective Tuesday, 03 January 2017.
Mashitisho brings a wealth of experience in senior management, particularly in the public sector. His most recent employment was at Mogale City Municipality where he served as the City Manager, a position he held since 2006. Mashitisho served in the same capacity at Merafong Local Municipality and held numerous positions in local government over the past 22 years.
Minister Nomvula Mokonyane has welcomed the appointment of Mashitisho, saying she is confident in his capabilities. “We wish him well in his new role and we are confident that he will continue the efforts towards good governance and improved access to water and dignified sanitation,” said Mokonyane.
