Western Cape on release of 2015 NSC results

Timing of release for 2015 NSC results

The much anticipated Provincial and National results of the 2015 National Senior Certificate (NSC) are expected to be announced by Minister Angie Motshekga on Tuesday 5 January 2016.

Schools and candidates in the Western Cape will then receive their results on the 6th of January 2016.

Schools collect their results from district offices on the morning of the release. They are then asked to analyse the results and check for any errors.

At 12h00 on 6 January 2016, the 2015 NSC candidates will then receive their individual results.

The individual candidate results will then be available on the Western Cape Government website (https://www.westerncape.gov.za/service/examination-information-and-results) from 14h00 on Wednesday 6thJanuary 2016.

Many parents and learners question why, in the Western Cape, learners have to wait until 12h00 the following day to receive their results.

This is done for a number of reasons which include giving principals the opportunity to examine their results and to pick up any errors that may have occurred or to alert the WCED regarding a candidate that may be disappointed by their results and require counselling.

The WCED has counsellors available across the Province should candidates need counselling or support.

Candidates can also contact the WCED's Safe Schools Hotline on 0800 45 46 47.

For further information on the exams, candidates can contact the WCED Exams Helpline for further information at (021) 467-2300, or visit the Exams Helpdesk at the WCED's Head Office, second floor, Grand Central Building, Lower Parliament Street, Cape Town.
