State of readiness media briefing by the IMC on the commemoration of 40 years anniversary of 1976, June 16 students uprising
The Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on the Commemoration of 40 Years Anniversary of 1976, June 16 Students Uprising chaired by Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Jeff Radebe will hold a media briefing on the preparations for Youth Day event.
Youth Day recognises and celebrates the role of South African youth in the liberation struggle, while also commemorating the pain and the sacrifices that young people made so that we can all be free from the yoke of racist oppression. The anniversary of the historic uprising will be commemorated under the theme: "Youth Moving South Africa Forward”.
