North West Government commends SAPS for speedy arrest of suspects

The North West Provincial Government commends the South African Police Services (SAPS) for the arrest of seven suspects who are linked to unrests that took place in Mareetsane village since Tuesday 26 July 2016.

The seven suspects aged between 19 and 32 are expected to appear at the Itsoseng Magistrate’s court on Monday 1 August 2016.

Premier SOR Mahumapelo has on several platforms called on communities to refrain burning schools when they are angry. He advised that they should rather approach government through the various platforms created such as the Setsokotsane Operation Centre which he launched on 22 July 2016.

“We commend that SAPS for the speedy arrest of suspects and the community of Mareetsane for working with the police to ensure the successful arrest of the suspects,” Mahumapelo said.
