Premier Supra Mahumapelo implements Setsokotsane 24hours Operation Centre

Setsokotsane set for concurrent implementation throughout the Province – Mahumapelo announces

North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo says the Provincial Government will from next week Monday, 9 May 2016, start to implement Setsokotsane concurrently in all the province’s four districts. Mahumapelo says his Office will also soon launch and implement a Setsokotsane 24hours Operation Centre, this in an attempt to bridge the communication gap between the provincial government and its communities.

Premier Mahumapelo said this today, Thursday 5 May, while tabling Office of the Premier budget vote speech for 2016/17 financial year at the North West Provincial Legislature.

He told the sitting that this concurrent approach to implementing Setsokotsane is as a result of the engagement government held with communities in all districts, who requested that based on the impact Setsokotsane has made in their lives, it must be implemented in all the districts at the same time.

Reiterating the significance of Setsokotsane in improving service delivery, Mahumapelo told the Provincial Legislature that his Office will be releasing a citizens report to reflect on the perceptions of communities with regards to service delivery issues, on an annual basis.

“Those who may have followed the debate on President Jacob Zuma’s Budget Vote yesterday, have heard how Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa educated the National Assembly on how Setsokotsane has put Bokone-Bophirima at the centre and forefront of delivering services to the people”.

“We wish to restate this once more, that there is no additional budget set aside for Setsokotsane because service delivery funds are already appropriated through line function departmental budgets for 2016/17”, emphasised Premier Mahumapelo.

For this first quarter of the financial year, Setsokotsane will from next week Monday until the end of the month be implemented in Maquassie Hills, Kagisano-Molopo, Ditsobotla and Moretele Local Municipalities, before moving to other local municipalities in June this year.
