Premier of the North West Province, Supra Mahumapelo, will on Tuesday, 7 February 2017, launch the much awaited Setsokotsane Ward Operation Centres at Ward 32 Boikhutso village outside Venterdorp, NW 405 Local Municipality.
Aimed at serving as central points in documenting Bokone-Bophirima residents’ experiences regarding the levels of government services across the entire province’s Wards, the Setsokotsane Ward Operation Centres will also become a one stop-shop where the provincial government will coordinate the provision of integrated service delivery interventions.
The key functions of the Setsokotsane Ward Operation Centres which will comprise delegated government officials including, Community Development Workers (CDWs), Community Health Workers (CHWs), Ward Committee Members (WCM) and Local Councillors, will be to amongst others, identify and prioritise socio-economic issues as well as to monitor government projects implementation plans within the Wards.
Premier Mahumapelo will as part of the day’s programme, visit some of the destitute families in Boikhutso village, where he will also hand-over food parcels.
The Premier’s Setsokotsane Ward Operation Centres launch speech will be broadcast live on the Community Radio Stations across the entire province, which will be followed by the Premier’s interaction with community members.
Setsokotsane is one of the five concretes introduced by the province’s fifth administration which aims to bridge service delivery gaps, this in an effort to improve the lives of the people of Bokone-Bophirima, this in the context of the National Development Plan and the vision to Rebrand, Reposition and Renew the province.
