The Ministers from African countries involved in the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) and African Very Long Baseline Interferometry Network (AVN) projects will brief the media in Johannesburg, on Friday 15 April at 13h00.
The media briefing will focus on the resolutions of their annual meeting which started this morning to review Africa's progress in radio astronomy. The Ministers will also sign a memorandum of understanding to institutionalise their cooperation in this regard.
South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia will host Africa's radio telescopes contributing to the SKA network. Both the SKA and the AVN will provide scientists with the most advanced radio astronomy array in the world.
