AIDS Council launches National Strategic Plan on HIV, TB and STIs, 20 Jul

The South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) will launch the process of preparing the National Strategic Plan (NSP) on HIV, TB and STIs for the next five years. The NSP is the strategic guide for the national response to HIV, STIs and TB in South Africa.

Members of the media are invited as follows:

When: Wednesday, 20 July 17:00 – 17:45
Where: Durban ICC, Press Conference Room 2

Speakers:

  • Dr. Precious Matsoso, Director-General, Department of Health
  • Dr. Gwen Ramokgopa, Chairperson, SANAC Board of Trustees
  • Dr. Fareed Abdullah, CEO, SANAC.

The panel of speakers will briefly share South Africa’s progress in tackling HIV and TB by releasing the Enhanced Progress Report on the NSP (2012-2016) and outline the consultation process that will allow people to share their ideas and priorities for the new Plan.

Due to the far reaching impact of the NSP on the lives of South Africans, it is important that it be designed with them, for them.
