Deputy Director-General Matsietsi Mokholo facilitates discussion on transformation in procurement of legal services at State Owned Companies, 13 Jul

The Department of Public Enterprises’ Deputy Director-General for Legal, Governance & Risk, Ms Matsietsi Mokholo, will on the 13th July 2016 facilitate a roundtable discussion about transformation in the procurement of legal services at State Owned Companies (SOC).

The Breakfast roundtable, termed The Legal Circle Caucus for Attorneys, is managed by the events division of Fusion Travel & Tours, a Pretoria based Travel & Event Management Company. The event will see legal professionals and firms discuss the challenges they encounter to access legal work at State Owned Companies. The breakfast roundtable will be held under the theme: Unlocking Briefing Patterns.

A number of black legal professionals and companies in particular have approached the department about the number of challenges in getting legal professional work at SOC and raised concern that they are not allowed or excluded to render legal services at SOCs.

Ms Mokholo will provide delegates with the insight of the legal services that are needed by SOC and how they may organise themselves to ensure they have access to procurement systems of the legal services.

The Chairman of State Owned Entities Procurement Forum, Kamogelo Mampane will deliver a keynote address to tackle the procurement issues at hand. A panel of legal professionals at different SOC will be on hand to share their procurement processes with the legal professionals and associations.

The roundtable will be held as follows:
Venue: Centurion Lake Hotel, Pretoria
Date: 13 July 2016
Time: 08h30
