President Jacob Zuma has in terms of section 84(2)(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, assented to the Auditing Profession Amendment Act 2015 (Act No. 2 of 2015).
The Act amongst others seeks to:
- regulate candidate auditors.
- include candidate auditors in the requirements for registration and toput them under the responsibility of the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors.
- give registered candidate auditors the opportunity to gain exposure in practice to a broad range of issues faced by registered auditors before the candidate auditors become registered auditors themselves.
