Premier Supra Mahumapelo assesses Taung bridge project progress and hands over completed house
Premier Supra Mahumapelo of Bokone Bophirima Province will tomorrow, Tuesday, 4 October 2016, visit the bridge and housing construction sites in Kolong village, Greater Taung Local Municipality, to assess progress made and handover one of the already completed houses.
As part of the day’s programme, Premier Mahumapelo who will be joined by Kgosi Tshepo Mankuroane of Batlhaping-ba-ga-Phuduhuchwana, will turn the first sod for construction of a road between Maphoitsile and Manokwane villages, before addressing the media on the resolutions of the recently held Bokone Bophirima Provincial EXCO. The media briefing will be held at Taung Skull World Heritage Site in Buxton.
The construction of this bridge made the local news headlines following government’s decision to relocate and build new houses for five affected families, this with a view to give way for construction of a new bridge.
