Members of the media are invited to a briefing by Secretary to Parliament, Mr Gengezi Mgidlana, on Parliament’s preparations and state of readiness to host the 2016 State of the Nation Address.
President Jacob Zuma will deliver the Address at 19.00 on Thursday 11 February.
During the briefing the Secretaries to the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces will also talk about the new rules of Parliament in so far as these relate to the State of the Nation Address. Some of the items they will address include:
- Members’ conduct
- New rules on disorder and related procedures
- Points of order during the Address
