MEC Magome Masike attends African Traditional Medicine Week commemoration, 30 Aug

North West Traditional Healers to commemorate medicine week

Hundreds of Traditional Health Practitioners from across the province will on Tuesday, 30 August 2016 converge in Mahikeng to celebrate African Traditional Medicine Week. African Traditional Medicine week is celebrated annually from the 26th to 31st of August.

This year’s African Traditional Medicine Day and Week’s theme is Regulation of Traditional Medicine Products in the African Region”.

As part of the celebrations, delegates will discuss amongst others, effective and efficient use of traditional medicines, essential medicines and health products, ttraditional and complementary medicine, health education as well as safe key family practices towards improving health outcomes.

MEC Dr. Magome Masike is expected to share with delegates the progress made by government in regulating traditional medicine products.
