Mahikeng, the capital city of Bokone Bophirima Province will tomorrow, Tuesday, 06 September 2016 be a hive of activity as public servants from all the provincial departments based in Mahikeng, be coming out in their numbers to clean the city’s streets and those in its residential areas.
The cleaning campaign that will commence from 09h00 until just after mid-day, is initiated as part of the recently launched provincial Social Mobilisation Ten (10) Point Plan campaigns and the broader Mahikeng Rebranding, Repositioning and Renewal Programme (MRRRP). One of the Ten (10) Point Plan campaigns, the Environmental issues campaign, puts emphasis on promoting and achieving a sustainable clean and healthy environment that is compliant with policies.
The deployment of government employees will be in accordance with their departmental clusters, and their deployment will focus on the following areas:
Social Cluster
Departments of Health, Social Development, and Education and Sport Development.
Sites - Mahikeng Town, including Golf view, Riviera Park and Danville.
Governance & Administration Cluster
Departments of Culture, Arts and Traditional Affairs (CATA), Community Safety and Transport Management (CS&TM), Local Government and Human Settlements (LG&HS) and Office of the Premier.
Sites - Units 1 -15
Economy and Infrastructure Development Cluster
Departments of Tourism, Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development (FEED), Rural, Environment and Agricultural Development (READ), and Public Works and Roads (PW&R)
Sites - Megacity, Industrial site, Montshiwa
To ensure that government services are not disrupted, some officials will remain in their respective offices to render the needed services.
