NLSA and BCX partner to increase capacity and empower youth

The National Library of South Africa (NLSA) and Business Connexion (BCX) cordially invite you to a media briefing session aimed at communicating the internship programme offered to unemployed youth in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Background

The National Library of South Africa through the Mzansi Libraries On-Line Project have partnered with Business Connexion to develop skills among school leaving and unemployed youth in the career field of ICT Librarian with the objective of adding  ICT technical support capacity at community libraries.

The collaboration will see NLSA and BCX contributing to the skills development initiatives of the National Development Agenda (NDP 2030) and increasing capacity at libraries which are confronted with the challenge of aligning and addressing the developmental needs of communities.

The briefing will focus on:

  • Announcing and creating awareness of the Graduate Internship Programme by the NLSA and BCX.
  • Communicating the new role of libraries in empowering communities.
  • How technology at the public libraries is used to address community issues.
